Re: New shape Bongo flashing glow plug and loss of turbo pow
Has anyone been able to get to the bottom of this knotty problem yet as we are seriously thinking that we must get rid of our bongo which I love, because it is becoming dangerous to drive when joining major roads when there is just no power and the turbo doesn't kick in, especially since we are now ...

Oh thank you for the tip. We're off to the Gobur factory this weekend so will check those panels in particular.

Which Gobur folding caravan to tow with Bongo
Hi
We're going to look at pre-owned Gobur folding caravans and will tow it with our Bongo 2.5 FWD converted Bongo (we need the space as we have 4 Jack Russell's). If anyone has experience of the Goburs would you recommend one with toilet/basin compartment or just use our porta potti. I'm leaning ...

Tow bar for new shape Bongo
Does anyone know if there are problems getting a suitable towbar for the new shape Bongo. Ours is V reg TD 2.5 and we want to tow a folding caravan but one company said as its post 1995 its not type approved for towing and Towsure aren't confident that the bar they suggest would fit! Does anyone out ...

Re: Problem with electrics
Thank you very much for your help. Firstly we're going to talk to the garage where the split charge relay was fitted so that they can look into it. Hopefully it will be something simple so that at last we can try an overnight campout without worrying that the batteries will go flat by morning! Up to ...

Problem with electrics
Ever since buying our Bongo 3 years ago we've never felt confident to camp even one night without hook up in case the battery went flat (it happened twice on site and we changed the main battery). That was with just lights and fridge. The Bongo has been garaged for the past few months so we haven't ...

Tracking Information
Following a recent MOT I took the Bongo to have the tracking checked as there was evidence of wear on the front tyres inner edges (standard 15 inch tyres/wheels). The local garage said they couldn't do it as their computer would not have the relevant data for a Bongo. I printed off the tracking ...

Re: Headlights come on on there own - ghostly deeds?
Hi there,
I believe that it is possibly associated with the very cold weather, the fact that it happens to a brand new vehicle would be even more worrying - thank heavens for warranty.
From the enclosed you can see there is some unusual device - remote starter? - together with a small circular ...

Re: Headlights come on on there own - ghostly deeds?
Hi there,
It depends on what position the lighting stalk was left in. Normally it's in the dipped position, but if I have turned the phantom lights off by moving the stalk to the main beam position and left it there the next time it happens they come on in the main beam position. Without the engine ...

Headlights come on on there own - ghostly deeds?
On 3 occasions over the past 10 days or so the headlights (not the rear lights) have come on by their own accord. In this time the Bongo has just been parked on the drive and not taken out at all. One time only the offside headlight came on. To turn them off all you have to do is reverse the ...

Re: Flashing glow plug light
Difficult one, they were really helpful but basically they deal in gearboxes. They looked at the Bongo as it was still under warranty from Imperial, and quickly realised that it was not a gearbox fault. However, they persevered and came up with what would appear to be the likely solution (tested ...

Re: Flashing glow plug light
At the request of Imperial Cars I took the Bongo to Dunnings Automatics in Weymouth. They put their analyser on the beast and came up with 3 faults (I can't remember the numbers). After a bit more playing around it was determined that the fault lay with one of the EGR (Exhaust Gas Re-circulation ...
