Re: HELP: Best insurance price for Rav4 2005 3 door

Can anyone help. My partner has 14 years no claims but is being quoted £1100 to renew with Sheilas Wheels. Clearly that is a daft quote for a mature lady with such a good record. She also probably only does 3k miles a year if that. I'm wondering if brokers like ones we use might be worth trying, an...

Re: Cracked Roof

My roof cracked in exactly the same place when the motor at that side came loose from the mountings and pressure was foolishly put on the roof to try to close it instead of doing it the proper way. I repaired mine in-situ and it is more than twelve months since now, been up and down quite a few time...

Re: Fresh water tank

Wellhouse put in the area where rear heater used to fit so will probably require the whole unit to be removed: Wellhouse don't always fit in the position mentioned by Simon as above. My Wellhouse conversion water tank is fitted to the chassis under where the side sliding door is and is quite easy t...

Re: Webasto Heater

Perhaps a silly question but have you switched your 12volt supply on? If not the heater won't work.

Re: Bongo Rattling

I don't know if it is the same but my 1995 diesel Bongo developed a hard to define rattle which was more often than not always there at tick over but sometimes not as bad or not noticeable when being driven. I at first suspected alternator but the rattle didn't seem to increase much in speed or inte...

Re: stuck oil filter

Just a thought Rob, as you didn't make it clear. You did punch the screwdriver in one side of the filter and out through the opposite side didn't you? If you went in one side only it is unlikely to turn the filter and will just make the hole bigger as you try turning the screwdriver, sorry if I am t...

Re: Service time.......

This reminds of the days before I retired. Me and a work colleague had very similar opinions about life in general but one of us would always take the opposing view :---) just so we could have a good argument......sorry, I mean heated debate. Thank you ALL for your help and advice to those of us who...

Re: Mystery Flat batteries

A couple of weeks ago the Freda refused to restart following a quick stop outside a shop at Lakeside That's how my battery went a couple of years ago. No signs of trouble and, as usual, it started perfectly first time on a cold frosty morning. Drove for about an hour, stopped for a quick cuppa then...

Re: Starter motor contacts

Basically put em in the same way they came out, you'll probably find they don't line up if you do it differently. I did mine about 18 months ago, but couldn't tell you which way around from memory. I thought you would be along before too long Kirsty =D> . If I had bothered to look a bit closer #-o ...

Starter motor contacts

Just got new starter solenoid contacts but would appreciate some confirmation as to which way round they go. On my starter the elongated contact is on the battery lead side of the solenoid but the photos in the fitting instructions that came with the contacts set show the elongated contact on the si...

Re: Glowing Head light

My near side headlight did that last week, it was just a bad earth. I couldn't trace back to where original earth wire went so I just cut into it at the bulb holder and ran a new earth wire to a nearby bolt.
