Jim,
Was that no fuel due to a leak in the system or due to empty tank? I filled my tank ~400km ago so am pretty happy I have at least 1/4 tank left.

Re: Starting Issues - How can I win Silvia back?
Cheers for the reply.
Still mulling this over and glow plugs are a potential problem, although as it has been a warm day I would have thought it would start ok even if they are duff. I need to get a multi meter, my previous one got melted through misuse

Starting Issues - How can I win Silvia back?
Hi All,
I think Silvia (my bongo, 2.5 TD Auto) heard me talking about going to Cornwall in Freda (My friends Freda).
Now she won't start :-(
I have owned her since February last year and once I had the glow plugs changed she never had any starting problems. I used her yesterday for a drive of ...

96ish 2WD 2.5TD - Narrowing seats and Moving Seat Rails
Hi All,
I recently saw a side conversion where it seemed that the original center seats had been kept, but narrowed to 2 rather than 3 seats.
I was wondering if this is a regular mod and is therefore pretty easy or if something special had occurred with this particular bongo.
I am thinking of ...

Temperature gauge erratic - 2.5td auto
Hi all,
l have been having a goat time travelling around in the bongo . I must have put the but part of 2k miles on it in the 6 weeks to 2 months that I have owned it so far.
On my most recent adventure I noticed that the top gaug was behaving erratically. At slow speeds the temperature would fall ...

Re: External Gas and Water
Thanks guys,
Will look at that site for the water tank, I already have a unit with a camping gaz 907 bottle. My hope was to find a way of safely mounting the bottle under slung... I will have a look at the possible positions tomorrow.

External Gas and Water
Hi all,
I am thinking about the future, and wondering if it is possible to have an external gas and water tank fitted to the underside of the van?
This is purely pie in the sky at the moment and I just wondered if anyone has previous experience of this?
I was thinking just a normal camping gaz or ...

Re: fuel light
I have always run my vehicles low to keep the crud out of the system.
Always running it low means the crud is being dragged through in small chunks, and the fuel filter should be able to manage it... I hope.
If you are forced to run low for some reason and there is a load of crud in the bottom ...

fuel light
Is there one?
I am trying to get an idea of the mpg so want to run the tank as low as I can. In my cars I rely on the warning light and know I have ~50 miles to find some fuel. But this comes on when I am well into the red zone.
On the bongo I have just started touching the white block, but dont ...

Re: New owner... 2.5 engine running funny
Hi D and P.
It was definitely warmer when all was well, but I kinda thought that was the point of the glow plugs, to warm the fuel.
The squeak came back with avengence yesterday, it definitely isnt the same as a slipping belt squeak, its too irregular and short, more like there is a mouse under ...

Re: New owner... 2.5 engine running funny
Thanks Northern Bongalow.
I am going to have to try and find some time this weekend to have a poke around under the seat.
Thanks for all the help so far though.
When I used it last night I didn't get any of the squeaking or the miss fire. So it is obviously an intermittent problem.

Re: New owner... 2.5 engine running funny
Thanks Wonkanoby.
Just need to find the time to do it now!!
Can the belts be adjusted or is it time for a new one if they are found to be the problem?
