Hi all,
l have been having a goat time travelling around in the bongo . I must have put the but part of 2k miles on it in the 6 weeks to 2 months that I have owned it so far.
On my most recent adventure I noticed that the top gaug was behaving erratically. At slow speeds the temperature would fall away very quickly afthaver a few minutes of indecisiveness. At normal road Guiting speeds 50-70mph the gauge will fluctuate fairly regularly, whilst never quite reaching the 1/3 gauge length level I have got used to seeing it at.
I appreciate the ambient temperature has been very low over the last few days but I am concerned this b the start of a sticky thermostat. However, the top rise from cold is as expected. It just doait quite get as high as it has in the previous few Weeks.
Any thoughts from the collective?
Thanks
Dom

lift the drivers seat and look at the front end of the head, there is a temp sender with a single wire to it, remove this and carefully clean then refit. be careful as the wire can be tight and short as it comes over the front edge of the rocker cover from the harness on the passy side.

Have you got a Mason alarm fitted, or had the modification done to un-damp the temperature gauge? If so, may be worth checking the connections on the back of the instrument panel.
