Re: What to do with a now defunct Bongo?
It's a 1995 2.5TD with AFT. Green /silver paint.
It's actually in great condition, having had new rear arches 18 months ago and regular servicing. There's a tow bar, climate (regassed 2 summers ago), privacy glass and a load more. It's been great; never missed a beat until now!
A different dealer ...

What to do with a now defunct Bongo?
Hi
I'm just looking for opinions about what to do with my Bongo.
It's just been declared 'finished' following a broken cam belt and smashed rockers! However, the rest of its condition is not too bad.
So, should I collect it from the garage and try to sell some parts myself before scrapping or ...

Re: Odd noise from near side rear
I think there is a slight change when you turn left/right but not much. I like the idea of it sounding like someone running in flip flops!!!
As for driving past sound reflecting objects; it happens too often for that and weirdly, I did think about that (I'm a secondary sciences teacher!!)
I also ...

Odd noise from near side rear
Hi
Just wondered if anyone can help with this.
I've just returned from a trip into the hills and on the way up there noticed a strange 'fluttering' from the rear. I think it's the near side. Ages ago there was evidence of a tiny bit of oil/fluid from that side of the rear axle but that is no ...

Paint colours
Hi
My Bongo is suffering from the dreaded wheel arch rust. At the moment it's not bad but I am looking to arrest it before it gets this way.
My query is, I have seen the touch up kits on the Bongo shop but am a little unsure on the colour. It says on the panel in the passenger door that my paint ...

Re: 2.5d 2wd Bongo making a strange chirping/screeching nois
I'm having the same problem - am I right in thinking that if the belts are worn, the chirping sound will probably be loudest and most pronounced when the engine is cold?
I'm going to have a go at the soapy water trick and see if that helps
Thanks for the on-going advice!

Re: MOT fail - a little advice needed!
Thanks for the reply!
I guess I need the whole part and not just the dust cover then?
I wish I knew more about this - I'm good with bikes (non-motor) though - least that's something!
Thanks again

MOT fail - a little advice needed!
Hi
My Bongo just failed it's MOT on small matters but needs a few parts.
The MOT sheet says;
1. Nearside AND Offside front lower suspension arm ball joint dust covers excessively deteriorated - dirt ingress
2. Nearside and Offside front track rod end ball joint dust covers excessively ...

Suspension / shock absorber query
Hi
Hope someone can help
Just got back from a week away and noticed that when the Bongo is full of people (7), the suspension bottoms out very easily. It also does the same with a towbar mounted bike rack on with 2 adults and 2 kids.
I have just looked in the fact sheets at spring assisters ...

Oil filters
Does anyone know if Halfords do an oil filter to fit 2.5td?
Also, I've read the document about oils - which is the best to use?
I've just looked and realised that the Bongo needs an oil change (done just over 5000km) - I have a chance to do it this weekend and can't use Bongo Fury shop until 16th ...

Rear differential
Hope someone can help!!
Just returned from a trip away and have noticed a whining from the rear of the Bongo.
It's a 4wd version.
I have swapped tyres around to see if it was them and the noise changes when swapping front to back but remains mainly on acceleration. Also, road surface has no ...
