Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch

Having removed the rear heater/aircon matrix thing in mine and capping the pipes off, I took it to a local garage who tested for leaks. After ascertaining that there were no leaks (yay!) they re-gassed it. All for £80. Might be worth getting the same done with yours. The compressor was making some ...

Re: Newbie - Help is this a 4x4 Bongo

if off-road is a major concern, a smaller 4x4 with a roof tent might be a better option. Jimny / Land Cruiser / Pajero etc.

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch

hello there!

I've had the belt tension re-adjusted, no squeal so far =D> but the aircon is still intermittent.

i'm looking for advice whether re-gassing the system is liable to
a) help
and/or
b) rule out any other issues

any guidance before I drop £80 on gas?

thanks

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch

having driven 2,500miles round europe this past 4 weeks, the aircon was an on/off affair.

some days it would work fine, others would be intermittent.

turning AC to econ then to off, then turning fans off, then waiting a minute, then restarting and it would often re-engage and work ... for 10 ...

Re: Bongo Newbie - Gutter Rail & Fig 8 Query

We found the “drive away” awning immeasurably irritating to use. The drive away part is fine, it’s the drive back part that is absurd.

Far better for us was a simple tarp and a couple of guy lines pinned the far side of the bongo. Just two lines to slip off their pegs than a whole rather naff ...

Re: dickie seats

I tried a few and 25mm was about perfect. 40mm fit but it’s a lot of tightening and sticks out the other end.

Next question… is there a way of tightening or otherwise stopping the seat from folding all the way down? I know they are technically footrests but very easy to fold with any amount of ...

Re: Safe park and ride for Central London ?

Anywhere that goes into Victoria as a railway station is your best bet, though south + outside ULEZ is a fair way out, and the increase in trainfare may offset the cost of just paying the ULEZ charge (£12.50 x 2 for day you arrive day you leave).

So, I wouldn't necessarily restrict your search to ...

Re: Reversing middle row of seats on Bongo

We have just bought a Bongo and are wondering if the middle row of seats can be reverses to face the back row. Our model is a Bongo Friendee Aero City Runner, 2002 model.

We were also wondering how easy it is to swap the lap belts for proper seatbelts or at least ones that are safer.

if it's ...

Re: Air conditioner compressor clutch

The start up squeal is getting worse - I’m concerned that a belt will pop before a long trip and we will have no AC (assuming it is a belt related sound).

Is there a simple way to ascertain what is causing a loud squealing sound on first start of the day?

Re: Removing middle bench seat to create space - a good idea?!

For anyone wondering the same thing ^ the answer is yes the middle runners do stop the rear row moving close enough to front seats to make a bed.

And so far as I can tell, I’d need to swap and rotate the each runner by 180^o to simply put the rear row of seats on the middle runners. (Because my ...
