wiring box has a squeaky rattle

Post by BromGo » Tue Aug 05, 2025 2:28 pm

does anyone else's wiring box (near right-knee area of driver's side seat) make a (bloody annoying!) squeaky rattling type noise? I've tried tightening the screws but don't want to over-tighten. Might just wedge a sock in there to dampen it.

thought worth asking if anyone else has experienced this....

A lot of people report a problem with a squeaky dashboard as being the supports for the big crash pad "pipe" 60-420B that supports the entire dashboard where they fix at each end. I believe you can gain some access by removing the end panels to get to the screws?

I’ve used a spray of ACF50 on ‘squeaky things’ in the past to good effect.

I use it quite a bit on my motorbikes for a variety of purposes, it bonds in a molecular way to prevent corrosion and provide lubrication, great at keeping your bike in good condition if you ride in all weathers.
It lasts quite well, and is not sticky or smelly, pretty good on black plastic trim (bumpers etc) restoring colour.

Just keep it away from your brake discs/pads 👍
