Re: Travelling as lockdown slowly lifted?

You can drive anywhere in England for exercise or 'leisure purposes' there appears to be no legislative restrictions on how far you may travel, you are not supposed to stay elsewhere other than your home address overnight though. I will be using the Bongo again to go walking and cycling on my own or...

Re: Stuck At Home During The Pandemic?

I think once they start allowing people back to work/school then motorised travel will obviously increase and the 'lockdown' in the sense of remaining indoors will hopefully end; that will be fine for me rather selfishly as I can then get out into the countryside again for a drive in my van/cars for...

Re: Few Bodywork Questions

Some owner's I have read on here have experienced rust on the gutter join/area due to the fitment of the roll out awnings like the Fiamma's which have caused stress on the joins/welds leading to the ingress of water and rot.

Re: Slow performance up hills

If you manage to get an uninterrupted run-up all is ok, if you get someone dithering and then slowing before accelerating up the hill, the 2.0 is usually left struggling and clawing it's way up in a very sedate fashion. Used to it now, time to admire the views

Re: Van-X Wheel Arch Trims on a face-lift model

Never seen these in situ, what is the point is it purely aesthetic? Looks like another place for mud/salt/damp to be trapped and cause (even more) corrosion?

Indeed, you're right about some vans/conversions makes the Bongo feel very quiet, well built and super plush inside.

Re: Gearbox Service

If the fluid is as you say I would leave it well alone. Read around this and some say for a auto gb ATF change around 45-60K miles, or if the mileage has gone above and beyond with no change of fluid and there are no issues and the fluid is a nice red colour etc leave it be.

E10 Petrol and the Bongo?

I was aware of E5 petrol and it having 5% ethanol, been on the Continent and seen the E10 variety (and the diesel variants); read today that the Government are pushing for E10 to be mainstream here, there seems acknowledgement that there will be provision for E5 as well but I am wondering for how lo...

Re: Refurb or Replace - 1997 2.5TD

At that cost I would be stripping out my conversion and added extras and buying a much newer lower mileage unconverted van and fitting them to that ....if you were doing the work yourself fair enough but to pay £7K on such an old Bongo/mileage (that will not rise in value/classic etc) with rust prob...
