Re: Central locking
'97 AFT, 2.5tdi, 2-wheel drive. Why does the central locking only work off the driver's door? Is it because A - it's supposed to?.. B - something's bust? C - the Cobra 4100 alarm/immobiliser is confusing the c/l system? D - a combination of the above? E - would I be better off disconnecting the Cob...

Re: Evans waterless engine coolants
I've worked with waterless collant in the past and have seen bongos with it. It does in fact run slightly hotter than water, but doesnt expand as much so doesnt produce pressure, which in turn doesnt stress the cooling system reducing the chances of pipe ruptures due to over pressure etc There are 2...

Re: Cobra alarm
its almost impossible to tie in directly to the bongos central locking system, the usual method is to add an aftermarket solenoid to control the drivers door lock, its possible this has become faulty hence the erratic control, the alarm beep when activating in standard form unless programmed it shou...

Re: Does a facelift grille fit an older van
I know Wade, the old owner of 321away was messing about with making a new grill fit an old car and it went to prototype, not sure if he finished the design tho?

Re: Bongo Security
An old installers trick, was to swap the window stickers given to the customer, so if you had a Clifford fitted, he'd give you Toad stickers etc as different alarms prevent different attacks and just added a little confusion to the mix.

Re: converting offside reversing light to fog
Have to be careful as some (of the pickier!) mot testers, complain that it gives a 'pink' light!, and coating the bulb will usually lead to it burning the stuff off if switched on for a period

Re: ALARM INDICATION
I've seen bongo's do something similar , nth almsot hit it on the head, depending on the connection location, if the indicator stalk is in the 'indicate' position, only that side will work. Call up the installers they should happily come out and check it, and dont think just cos theyre a compnay, th...

Re: diy central locking and electric window closer.
Going about it wrong, most vehicles have '1 touch' closing and thats the feature that you want your alarm to control, most of them use a bimetal switch to deactivate power when the windows closed (by overloading them), just throwing power into a relay to 'force' the windows is a recipe for disaster ...

Re: Wastegate Actuator Stuck Open
You are correct in your assumption, The waste gate is a Pressure relief (safety)mechanism, it should only Open at a pre determined pressure. The wastegate on later models works in the opposite way to a normal unit, instead of opening to allow gases to bypass the impeller, these close to restrict fl...
