rear gearbox sensor wire broken - can I get a replacement?
The hold light is flashing on my bongo and my local garage has identified the possible problem as being a broken wire on a sensor on the rear gearbox. They tell me that the sensor is located on the output shaft, just as the prop shaft goes in. There's 8-12 inches of wiring and plug. From this description, can anyone tell me what this component is, and any ideas where I can get a replacement?

Its a magnetic pick up, if the wire is broken cant they just repair it?

Have a read of this: http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... it=+Sensor
The speed sensor itself has no wires but a connector which plugs in to the loom. Could you find out a bit more details about what the problem is and perhaps a photo of the item?

Assuming its just a broken wire, why have the garage not just done what any good garage with a decent auto electrician should have done and just repaired it. Even if it was just crimp some push together terminals onto it, if they can't solder.
Hope you get it fixed ok.

Thanks all for the advice. Sounds like I need to ask them to fix the wire; failing that get some more detailed info. Great to have people out there who know what they are doing.
