32 degrees roasting 31.5 warm

Hi

Is their not a temperature sensor in the cabin to give feed back to the electric air con?

I thought it was on the passenger side of the centre dash. Just to the side of the gear lever. About 3 or 4 vertical slits in the dash?

Maybe it's broke? or another poor conection.

I'm just thinking out loud, but their must be a sensor somewhere or how else can the air con know when it's got to the right temp, hot or cold.

I have to admit that the words below the "Warning" statement make
no grammatical sense to me whatsoever. Warm and Cool are relative
terms and subjective as well. If I have the temperature set at 25 C
and the fan at lowest speed, the air from the face vents is around
25 C, the air from the foot vents maybe a few degrees warmer but
I would need to use a thermometer to be any more accurate than
that.

I have 2 Bongos and both exhibit the same temperature conditions,
but I am an old f**t and suffer from cold feet.

Thanks ,the air I get from the top blowers at 25 is definitely COLD,not just cool.

I think I will get a garage in Glasgow to have a look...I cant travel up and down to Manchester to have it looked at again

no problem hi jacking the thread it is all relevant and seems to be more common than what i first thought, anyway an update on mine is that it seems to be inconsistent I was out for about 45 mins and it was ok, working like it used to, then I was out for about an hour and a half and had the problem again, so the plot thickens but the answers are no clearer.

I read through this with great interest (the boss is a cold morsel and if the cabin temperature isn't warm enough, she is prone to 'kick off') so I would like to know the answer to your problem, just so I can be prepared.
Have you checked the linkages in the driver footwell (someone mentioned it earlier but I don't think you replied - or I missed it) Apparently, these linkages are prone to becoming dislodged.

Sorry for hijacking the thread . . just had front heater matrix replaced as previous one was goosed. Now got hotness at 32 and Coolness at every other temp. Moved the lever to Winter Position . . no difference . .

Did anyone every get to the bottom of this mystery?

This is what i do, as we run on LPG i leave the heaters off until the engine is up to 30 degrees and has switched over to gas (normally within 3-4 minutes). I never use 'Auto' setting so always use Manual, i set the temp' to 28 degrees in the mode position 'face & feet' and within a few miles i have hot air blowing through both top and bottom vents, i can alter the temp' up or down and i find i have full control over the cabin temperature, the same equates to the rear cabin too.

I haven't experimented as much as you guys but my Bongo exhibits the same behaviour as the OP.

There is a huge difference between 31.5 and 32 degress setting. 31.5 degress is warm and 32 is roasting. I just end up using it in manual mode and crank it up to 32 initially for a while then back it off to 21/22 once warmed up.
