noticed a knocking on the back end this weekend and on investigation it was pretty obvious it was the drop links.

yes i had been monitoring a slight loss and the pressure test found it. i have ordered a water pump from JAS, so will be fitting it when it arrives and doing another pressure test to check the system again.

just like to say, what an essential piece of kit the low coolant alarm is.
i got in the bongo the other day after work and the LCA went off, so quickly had a look and the header tank was virtually empty. i topped it up to get home and had a good look around but could find no leak, so a phone call to ...

well the hose arrived today so i started straight away to replace it. the hose was split around the back at the top were it goes into the head. 
i also changed the alternator belts while i was at it,cos i had them in. they was bought when i fit a new alternator but they only sent one out at the time ...

yes, i took the sound advice from ady to fit one, and like you rightly say, i would of never known without it until it's to late. oh the joys of owning a bongo.

i was keeping a close eye on it, so soon as the temp gauge started climbing above usual/norm i knew straight away something was a miss. like many of you all say it pays to have a nosey around your engine regular to see whats going on.

yes it's the one behind the alternator.
do i have to drain the whole system or just replace hose top up and bleed?
