Stills smells like an overheated engine ?

Some months ago our bongo had some overheating issues, Cylinder head / Gasket all OK, replaced Rad, several pipes, stat. Over time I've replaced most silicone pipes with new blue /red ones.. so a lot of new stuff BUT, still, when the Bongo warms up, and I've got the heating on, it smells like an overheated car.. you know the smell, slighly fishy !

Question is, can I ever get rid of that smell from the engine ? replacing the heating matrix ? Any other tips ?

you may have a leaking front heater or pipework to it.
do a pressure test. does it use any coolant.?

Have a look around the top edge of the radiator. If it is weeping the antifreeze fries on the hot metal.

Hi mayk19,

You could try running with your heater control on RECYCLE and see if that makes a difference,if so you will know where to look.

Doesnt use any coolant. good idea on the Recycle.

When your outside the Bongo, when you've parked up after a run, I can smell it too.

Check for a mackerel stuck up the heater inlet.
