Rear windscreen water jet disconnected? (V6)

Hi. My rear water jet suddenly stopped working. The sound hasnt changed when I try to operate it, but no water is coming out. I dont think the nozel is blocked. The screen wash tank is full!

I seem to remember this happening on my previous (diesel) Bongo about 10 years ago, and it was a result of ...

Re: Fitting new Distributor Rotor Arm - amateur spannerist!

So far so good. Got the old rotor off and it looks a bit damaged. Pretty straightforward.

I'll call ADS tomorrow, didn't realise they carried stock for sale.

Fitting new Distributor Rotor Arm - amateur spannerist!

The nice AA mechanic has confirmed that my v6 2.5l Bongo needs a new distributor rotor arm, luckily the rest of the unit appears to be ok. The job is a bit urgent and I cant find a mechanic before Christmas. He says it's pretty easy to do. Would people here agree?

Whip out 3 x 8mm bolts holding the ...

Re: Flat battery = no power steering or braking...?!

Thanks - that's reassuring.

We certainly had plenty of rain yesterday. Dry today, I'll take a drive and check things out.

Re: Flat battery = no power steering or braking...?!

Thanks Geoff. Looks like both my belts are OK. As you can tell, I'm pretty much a novice where engines are concerned but should be able to spot a knackered or missing belt.

Good news is that the battery is reading 14.4v with the engine running, so the alternator seems ok. And the aircon seems ...

Re: Flat battery = no power steering or braking...?!

A bit of research suggests the V6s have a single alternator belt plus the AC belt - is that correct?

Re: Flat battery = no power steering or braking...?!

Interesting, the layout under the passenger seat of my V6 doesn't match the other diagrams I've seen or those in YouTube videos. Do the V6s have a different belt configuration?

I can't see any belt debris though and the belt I can see looks in good nick.

Flat battery = no power steering or braking...?!

Evening. I just had a strange experience with our Bongo.

Tried to start the engine (V6 petrol) and it wouldnt start. Sounded like a flat battery. I used a USB battery pack to get it ticking over and started driving. The engine sounded OK initially, but pretty soon everything was stuttering and I ...

Re: Damage to under door trim - is this repairable?

Sorry - supplemental question.

The white clips engage in 2 different directions, depending which end of the trim they are on. Does that mean that when refitting the trim, the white clips need to be put in place in the trim, then the trim is pressed into the Bongo? I had assumed the other way around ...

Damage to under door trim - is this repairable?

I've just managed to remove the passenger side long piece of trim the runs under the front and rear doors as this was damaged by a knock recently.

It looks like several of the white tabs have broken, which are easily replaced (from a guy on ebay who is 3d printing them for £1 each.

But, 2 of the ...

Bongo repairs in north Bristol? Damage to skirt

Hi. I've got some minor damage to the passenger side skirt, a couple of the tabs have detached and I cant remove the fixings to slide the skirt off and back on again.

I've used ADS in Bristol previously, but it's a bit of a journey back to Horfield, and driving over there is more convoluted since ...

Roof vent - do I need one?

I have a JAL converted Bongo with a mushroom roof. The fitted mushroom type air vent has cracked and is leaking, so needs replacing. There's also an issue that the roof sags slightly around the vent, probably under its own weight, which causes rain water to pool in that area and flood in through the ...
