Gear box

I have just had my gearbox go on a 2.5TD 4WD It had a 715 on it and I have been reliably informed that a 4WD gearbox from an earlier model would fit ie a 711 box with a simple modification. My question is what is that modification, I was told its something to do with the solenoid? Any help really ...

Re: No brakes

Thanks guys, Just got a good reply from Allans garage instructing on how to check hoses, pump etc. May have to remove drivers seat to check though as we've had the campervan conversion, as the seat won't tilt. Am I right in thinking that?

Re: No brakes

Yes if I press really hard on the pedal you do get some braking. Are the servos unique to bongos?

No brakes

Hi, Just on a bit of a tour of southern Spain and I'm in a pit of a pickle. Just drove through the Zaffarya pass and the long down hill roll towards Lake Vinuela, brake light illuminates and no brakes. Pull over to check brake fluid all fine. Noticed in hand book it says something about Vacumn ...

Re: "castleated tyres"

Thanks for that link. So I better get a few checks carried out. I dont quite understand the confusion about tyre sizes, If it states in the hand book the tyre sizes then surely thats what you should have. Or am I a bit thick.

Voltage from alternator?

I have just replaced the battery in the Bongo, when being replaced the mechanic checked the voltage from the alternator, it read 13.57. He said it should be around 14.5, is this so? would appreciate any info on this one. Cheers.

free camping?

I am currently on route to the west coast, Skye and further up. I am sure I have read somewhere that you can legally free camp in Scotland. Anyone let me know on some must visit/see places.
Lets hope the weather improves a bit.

Cheers.
