Tyre sizes

Post by mark.hingston » Sat Jul 30, 2011 6:27 pm

Hi, I have 195's on the front and 215,s on the back, as stated in the handbook, But the tyres have become castleated on the front, and making a lot of noise. I have been in touch with Allens garage in Devon and he tells me that I should change the tyres and have them all the same size. Does that mean I should have four 215's fitted? Why does the hand book state different size tyres if it is not so. :(

Hi mark.hingston,

The hand book is correct with the designed tyre sizes for this vehicle, the garage is giving you there opinion of what can be used,as other owners have done. Its up to you what road you take(excuse the pun) :) .

Cheers..

- yes, if the wheels are rated high enough for the bongo & fit ok.

This FAQ may help point you in the right direction - http://www.igmaynard.co.uk/bongo/forum/ ... =43&t=7895
You can't polish a turd - but you can roll it in glitter.

I won't get into discussing tyre sizes but there is a good explanation on Wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wheel_and_ ... _they_mean of what the numbers mean just look at the pictures on the right to start with ;-)
