Re: CB Radio
Thanks for the replies. I've got an old CB coming from e-bay. When it's up and running I'll let you know how I got on. And whether there's still anyone out there!

Re: Old Smokey Kiwi Bongo
I'm sure if it were brake fluid you would very soon see the reservoir empty. With that mileage on a hard worked petrol, piston rings/bores must be favourite at least until a compression check proves otherwise.

Re: rev counter/ hold light
I'd guess you have two problems there. I suspect the rev counter and Hold light are one problem and the engine roughness is another. The ECU takes an engine speed signal from somewhere and the back of the rev coumter is the most likely place; we know it takes the road speed signal from there. If the ...

Re: Solenoid error 61
Hi Tom,
Sorry to hear you've got the dreaded flashing hold light. Intermittantly, I have the same problem, code 61 and having had the solenoid pack changed it has'nt fixed the problem. In my case I'm pretty sure it's an electrical connection somewhere between the ECU and gearbox. I'm studying the ...

I doubt you would want to pay for the amount of fuel you'd use on a 200 mile trip in third gear either.

Re: Gearbox problems
Hi Dave,
If you are a paid up member have a look in the members area where you will find a fact sheet which tells you how to read the blink code and what it means. The code should give you some idea of where the fault lies. If speedo has been playing up look there first. As francophile1947 says ...

Re: Our bongo nighmare
Does the hold light (top right hand side in instrument cluster) flash when it wont change up? If so it will have saved a fault code which you can read; instructions in a fact sheet in the members area. Good luck.

Re: All smoke and no go....
Been watching this one with interest so I'd better share my thoughts. Engine runs with no reported bad noises so I assume nothing is seriously wrong mechanically inside the engine. The fact that there is plenty of smoke when the accelerator peddal is pressed suggests the fuel pump is working ...

Re: Flashing Hold & low power.
Hi Bonsi007,
I know how you feel, my new Bongo is doing something similar. There are lots of threads on this and quite a few apparant causes, some electrical some more serious. Try putting "flashing hold light" into the search facility or better still look at the fact sheets in the members area ...
