The main reason for not having one is the filter should be cleaned/replaced at the same time making sump removal essential.

Just noticed a typo should read Mag Engines predictive text taking over again.
They can supply recon bottom ends as well but as I said my was in amazing condition despite over 100,000 miles. The oil jets under the piston and diesels mm natural lubrication probably help a lot to minimise wear.

I have just rebuilt my entire bottom end with new bearings and piston rings following a cracked head episode.
Its quite easy sump off,remove main block brace and piston oil jets. All can then be removed quite easily.
I used a flexi hone to deglaze and then reassembly was quite straightforward.

The earth leads must be disconnected from both batteries or the welding current will flow to them. Big risk of them exploding.

I have checked my bores with a dial bore gauge and they are all within limits so I going to hone the bores and then fit new standard rings. The ring gap should always be checked when fitting new rings as if there is insufficient clearance for expansion increased wear or seizure may occur. Workshop ...

i would definitely go for a new head and gasket and do it yourself if your competent enough with original mazda gasket not the cheap version.
I have done this myself with a new radiator and waterpump at the same time. i found it a fairly easy job and have no problems since several years on now ...

i replaced my radiator approx 3 years ago with an ebay one. It was approx £100 and has worked fine ever since.
My head was replaced by me at the same time as it was cracked. again an ebay head and no problems with that either.

when on main the h1 projector lights stay on and the h7 main beam also comes on.
the lights come with a wiring loom so you only connect one side of the old h4 lights to operate the relays that draw the power direct from the battery.

I have just driven the van for the first time on unlit roads and feel very pleased that the light output is now much greater than my old lights with the road well and truely clear to see. Forgot to say they are adjustable from rhd to lhd by just moving a lever down on each light.
