Re: "Bongo's Wobble But They Never Fall Down!"

That's good to know Alison. I assume then that those who have body kits and the like have had theirs stiffened up, otherwise I imagine it would get smashed up a bit with all the jiggling. I quite like the wobbles, I imagine it's similar to being at a rodeo, or riding my bike down a big hill with a ...

"Bongo's Wobble But They Never Fall Down!"

Howdy all!

As some of you may know, I've had a bit of bother with my suspension in the past, the rear shocks in particular. Now, technically, everything should be sorted, and i've had my mechanic check over it a few times.
I may just be paranoid now but just how wobbly and bouncy should the Bongo ...

Rear shocks replacement - DIY?

Afternoon all,

Finally got around to buying new rear shocks.....just as my mechanic goes off on holiday for a whole load of weeks! How dare he!

As i would like to get this sorted ASAP, does anyone there reckon I could do it myself? (ie possibly by myself as missus is away this weekend) I ...

Re: Battery Woes

lets just say we were all wrong....or right

Yesterday lunchtime, i popped home to have a fiddle  .
I fitted the new leisure battery and connected up in the afore-mentioned rough manner in an attempt to starting it up. It obviously blew the fuses with such a big draw, so i replaced the fuses ...

Battery Woes

Hello all, hope you are enjoying the holiday season,

I've come to realise my leisure battery is toast, as it wont hold a charge. I 1st thought it was my smart relay set wrong, but having 'hard-wired' the batteries together (disconnecting the adjoining fuse when using the leisure battery) it is ...

Re: K & N filters

you want code E-9280.
Got mine from ebay also, not sure who, but generally full stock.

There may be varying opinions about fitting 3rd party air filters, but i certainly noticed a vast improvement in acceleration, shifting etc. I don't pay any attention to MPG, so i can't comment on that. Many ...

Re: Tyres

Should i have 215/65?

Yes (but just how badly I don't know) - but cheapest way out is to have 215/70's fitted on front as well.

Anything else could turn out to be expensive.

Thanks Scanner, I anticipated that was going to be the case and ordered 2No. 215/70 before, as you say, something more ...

Re: Tyres

crap, i'm currently having 215/70/15's fitted to the rear of my 4wd as we speak (195/70/15 on front).
have i effed up severely? 1 has 195/70 previously on the rear. I thought 215/70 was correct. Should i have 215/65?

Re: Firestone Vanhawk tyres

Superb, I'll give 'em a go on my trip to Grantown-on-Spey this weekend. Grudgingly, i will be staying in a wig-wam for a 'boy's weekend'. At least the Bongo is loaded up if i need to seek sanctuary

Re: Firestone Vanhawk tyres

Yeah I don't particulary enjoy using them, national, abs etc. I haven't yet searched for the little local guys that you would actually trust touching your Bongo, but once I have an idea what to buy, I'll be looking them up.

Firestone Vanhawk tyres

Badly needing new rear tyres. I actually think my current (and originals) are winter tyres!
I had Vanhawks fitted earlier this year...Kwikfit's choice...not the best, a little noisey, but they seem to be ok i guess :?
Now should i get Vanhawks again for the rear? or go for something else ...
