Firestone Vanhawk tyres

Badly needing new rear tyres. I actually think my current (and originals) are winter tyres!

I had Vanhawks fitted earlier this year...Kwikfit's choice...not the best, a little noisey, but they seem to be ok i guess

Now should i get Vanhawks again for the rear? or go for something else? Kwkfit seem to suggest Goodyear G2's, which i know alot of you use.

I have pickled my brain reading all the past discussions on the matter of van vs car, load ratings, reinforced or not, 195 f 215 r vs 215 all round....

Have you tried anywhere other than kwikfit?

Reinforced GT2 are good but I found they wear fast. Currently have Continental Vanco 8 ply - can't fault them and they stiffen up the steering nicely.

Yeah I don't particulary enjoy using them, national, abs etc. I haven't yet searched for the little local guys that you would actually trust touching your Bongo, but once I have an idea what to buy, I'll be looking them up.

The best tyres I've found are Vredestein Quatrac 2's an all season tyre that seems to suit my Bongo well.
They grip like you know what to a blanket in just about any conditions and greasy roundabouts seem to be a thing of the past since I fitted them.

Vanco are good.....or the Barum Vanis....which is made in the same factory as the Conti Vanco....

Now you have so much to think about.....

You won't be disappointed - they're just great for plowing through floods, must be about 10mm of tread

Remember to run them in for about 100 miles - makes them last longer

Superb, I'll give 'em a go on my trip to Grantown-on-Spey this weekend. Grudgingly, i will be staying in a wig-wam for a 'boy's weekend'. At least the Bongo is loaded up if i need to seek sanctuary

Same as the the Barum Vanis, it's unbelievable how much tread they have...
