We run 195 70 15 on front and 215 65 15 on rear any recomendations for all terrain all weather tyres . We are 4wd but drive a lot on rough tracks, fields plus had a few scares this year in snow on our hills.

For "All Weather" I'm extremely happy with Vredestein Quatrac 2's

As for "All Terrain" sorry can't help.

Is 96 load index on the quatrac enough for the rear of the bongo

It's exactly correct for the rear

92 front 96 rear.

i have some bridgestone duelers 694's on mine and they are spot on, a friend has the 684's and they seem a bit tame, was also advised to go for the kumhos 798's as they are a good tyre and supply alot of big car companies now

Now looking at putting sama size tyres all round. Should we go for 215s or 205s and does it matter if 65 or 70. We are 4wd and getting uneven wear on front 195 tyres looking at other posts same size all around might reduce this.

You won't find too many 215/65 all terrain tyres. The 205/70 size are fitted to the Daihatsu Terios (a sort of off-roader

) - the narrower tyres will also work better in the snow.

The bigger the tyre the more "out" your speedometer and odometer will be from what they are at the moment.
As 215/65 is the standard size on the rear anyway the speedo should read the same as it does now. But 215/70's will cause the speedo to read slightly "slower" than it does now and the odometer very slightly less distance travelled.

"Doone" from Allans in Plymouth reckons that they have found that 215/65's give the best balance of ride -v- handling.

I wouldn't worry too much as the tyre circumferences are only 1.1% different. My speedo was hopelessly inaccurate with the standard tyres, but with 225/55x17s, it's almost spot on according to the sat nav.

quatrac 2s 215/65-15 or 205/70-15 allround as there is more tyre choice in that size.
Hard to make a decision now not a lot of difference in rolling circumference so would it make much difference in ride and handling.

To avoid any arguments with insurance companies in the event of an accident I'd go for the 216/65's as they are the correct size for the back.

As the 205/70's are not the correct size for either axle (and undersize for the rear) an insurance company that didn't want to pay out could use that as an excuse.

crap, i'm currently having 215/70/15's fitted to the rear of my 4wd as we speak (195/70/15 on front).
have i effed up severely? 1 has 195/70 previously on the rear. I thought 215/70 was correct. Should i have 215/65?

Not sure about your viscose coupling spit... At least the new tow bar won't drag on the ground
