In case anyone else has the same problem, the problem turned out to be a blown fuse on a lead near a terminal on the leisure battery.
Now it all seems to be working as described on the instructions sheet and the fridge does not turn off when I turn charging on.

Re: Fridge/Charging question?
Thanks, yes I have read through that but I could not spot anything that might answer the question.
I have also attached a picture of some instructions I got when I bought the campervan (presumably they originally came from JAL imports)
I don't know anything about electrics I'm afraid but I did ...

Re: Fridge/Charging question?
Ok, thanks, so I will forget about the starter battery then.
Do you have any ideas about the fridge turning off when I turn the charger button on?
Thanks again

Fridge/Charging question?
Hi all
I have 2 questions about charging from the EHU that I'm hoping someone might know about.
I have a 2004 Bongo converted by JAL Imports. It has a Zig CF9 and a Vitrifrigo fridge.
The Zig unit has 12V, Mains and Charger buttons.
The fridge has a dial inside that turns it on and off. If I use ...

Re: Location for rear cam/ reversing camera
It has only taken me a few years to get around to replying, but just in case anyone else is doing the same thing....
in the end I did fit it where the mirror was (as suggested by ever after)
I ended up 3d printing a simple blanking plate to stick the camera on, its here if its of use:

Re: How to prevent rusty rear arches, sills
Thanks everyone, I have seen some people have fitted plastic covers to their arches. Do people do this to stop water getting in between the inner arch and outer arch? Or maybe do people just put them on so that don't have to watch while their arches rust away
Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help

How to prevent rusty rear arches, sills
Hi Bongonauts,
Sorry if this has been asked before but I'm struggling to find an answer
Many bongos fall foul of the dreaded rust on the rear arches and sills.
My question is: are these these areas susceptible to rust because of known design problems?
If so has anyone successfully found a ...

Hi all
Has anyone replaced their seat/rock-n-roll bed upholstery? We are thinking of some nice stitched vinyl upholstery for the front seats and matching cushions on the rock and roll bed (we have a JAL imports conversion).
Anyone know of a company that can supply this kind of thing and how much I ...

Re: Location for rear cam/ reversing camera
That's brilliant thanks, so did you glue it to the mirror mount? Is the viewing angle ok (because I guess these are designed to be fixed under the horizontal surface above the number plate rather than vertically)?
thanks again

Re: Location for rear cam/ reversing camera
Hi
Do you remember which camera you bought? Can I ask how you mounted it?
thanks
I really like the idea of installing mine where the reversing camera was and that looks great.

Re: Remote Central locking
Hi all
We finally bought our first bongo recently (many thanks to everyone on here who helped with advice etc)
It is a 2004 2.0 litre petrol aero and I am in a similar position to Hank. The seller only had one key and no key fob so I don't know if it has remote central locking.
Does anyone know ...
