Hi all,
Ive a 2.0 petrol in my workshop at the moment.
Random non start, and poor running/cutting out and then no restart.
Anyone able to help with getting blink codes from the diag port pls?
Ive seen the factsheet that has been posted on here, but that is for a diesel.
The petrol seems so use ...

Re: Odd electrical behaviour **sorted**

Good afternoon,
hoping someone can help out with a weird electrical issue.
Customers' 2.5 td Bongo, in for an intermittent problem.

Ignition on.
No glow plug lamp.
ALL cooling fans running all the time.
Hold button disabled.
It will start eventually, but when driving, it seems to be starting off ...

Re: Odd electrical behaviour

The plot thickens.....
Yesterday afternoon, it was doing its usual....

ignition on.
No glow plug light.
All fans running.
Whilst I was stood there scratching my head, without warning two soft clicks from somewhere, and voila...

Fans off.
Glow plug light on.
Everything normal.

This morning its ...

Re: Odd electrical behaviour

Thanks for that....
I should mention that when its behaving normally, everything functions as expected.
Power to the glow plug relay, and on to the glow plug bar, glow plug light on, etc etc. And it starts instantly.

But when it has a meltdown, no glow plug light, the glow plug relay isn't being ...

Re: temp gauge gone mad...

Thanks Geoff.
I found the scavenger sensor. Disconnected it and the fan started. So that one is ok.
But the sensor halfway back the engine and approx halfway down, on the drivers side is a single wire terminal onto a single connector sensor.
Odd.

Re: temp gauge gone mad...

Thanks guys.
Noticed something even more odd today. The plot thickens....
Approx 1min after engine start, the temp gauge shows just under halfway.
The coolant can't possibly get to that temp in such a short time?
It stayed like that for about 2 miles, then suddenly shot up to just below HOT ...

temp gauge gone mad...

Evening all,
just after a little help please?
1999 2.0 petrol. Drives fine. No coolant loss. Not overheating.
But, within 30 secs of starting from cold, the temp gauge climbs up to normal.
As soon as I start driving it creeps up to just over 3/4, then gradually drops and stays steady at 3/4
Also ...

Temperature gauge not moving….

Hello all,
just a quick question….
yesterday had a coolant hose split. No big drama, as low coolant alarm sounded, and I was able to switch off immediately.
Recovered home, and Ive replaced the split hose and bled the system using the see-saw method.

All is well. Front and rear heaters hot, bottom ...

Alternator output

Morning all,
quick question…..
1995 Freda 2.5 TD has a slightly low output from the alternator….

12.6v ignition off
12.8v engine at idle
13.5v at 2500rpm

No warning lights in dash.

I was expecting to see 14.5v
It has a leisure battery, split charge relay, swap loom and a solar panel for the ...

Re: Power Steering Leak

£15 oil seal, and a couple of hours to do.

Hi Russell,

Where did you get the £15 seal from?

I have the same issue and can only find the entire seal kit costing £60.

Hi, it was listed on ebay back in December last year.
Just looked now, and can't find any single oil seals. Just the kit ...

Re: Hold function on auto box not working

Hold function is back.
It was the connections to the hold button itself that had come off.
The wire in Geoff's picture goes up to the hold button. You'll see in the picture it goes through a cable retainer which, in my case, wasn't doing its job.
In any case, you remove the centre console, the ...
