2.0 petrol giving me grief!!

Post by Russell Jupp » Tue Jun 04, 2024 2:37 pm

Hi all,
Ive a 2.0 petrol in my workshop at the moment.
Random non start, and poor running/cutting out and then no restart.
Anyone able to help with getting blink codes from the diag port pls?
Ive seen the factsheet that has been posted on here, but that is for a diesel.
The petrol seems so use different pins within the port.
Didn't want to risk destroying something....
Thanks
Russ

The ECU's have changed over the years earlier versions had separate boards and made use of more pins later ones came down to a single board and less individual pins. Which year of vehicle do you have ?
Best to work out which Pins are present often it will come down to FEN/TEN and FAT/TAT manual had both sets and later automatics reduced down to just FAT/TAT or FEN/TEN. Quite often 4-digit code versions can be looked up using Google "MAZDA FAULT CODE P????"
Also bear in mind that the socket is mounted upside down compared to the image drawn on the PhilMcfadden site!!
If your a member of the Club itself there is another Factsheet which has some more details and also covers the 4-digit codes.
