Is my bongo back from the dead?
:!: After thinking my Bongo was kaput due to valve seat or broken rockers, i was advised to buy a stethoscope and have a very good listen.
So it seems the majority of the noise is coming from the belt cover at the front top of he engine!
Has anyone any ideas?
No smoke, still pulls amazing, just ...

Re: Engine Knocking (like piston gone) but no smoke?
If you take the air filter lid off is there a popping noise? One guy who looked at mine diagnosed a dropped valve when he heard this noise, but I'm still waiting on the garage to actually get their finger out and strip my engine down to find out for sure
Oh dear!!
I got the pop !!

Hi there,
Bob, (my bongo) has decided to start knocking (like a piston has gone) but, i've had this happen before on a van and black smoke billowed out the back and i lost power. I still have all the pull and no smoke out the back (noy even grey/blue on start up)

Removing the central beam to work on the engine!
Hiya,
Before i delve into my engine to sort the tappets, does anyone have any advice to removing the central maetal engine cover. It seems to have alot of plastic around the gear lever and i'd hate to break anything!!
Before i recieve any replies, i'd just like to say a massive thank you to ...

Hiya, thanks again for all the replies,

Engine Flush on 1996 Diesel
Hi all, I have a very noisy engine, very tappy and chuggy. I've done some research and what keeps coming up is the Tappetts/rods need a good clean hence the engine flush.
Has anyone in here had experience of this, am i on the right path or is this a common fault.
Your help would be greatly ...
