Re: Transmission fluid in cooling system 2.5 Diesel Auto 199
Thanks all. Seems new rad needed as the system has been flushed, clean water in, run up to temperature but oil still appears. May then be a head gasket issue, as the pressure is high, per garage. Does that make sense? Also any idea what cost for a new rad - is there one from a mainstream vehicle ...

Transmission fluid in cooling system 2.5 Diesel Auto 1999
Had a big overheating problem. System flushed out now but evidence of reddish oil in the coolant. Garage says there is a transmission fluid radiator as part of the cooling system that could be leaking into the engine coolant. Does that make any sense, and is there a solution please?
Thanks
Thanks

Re: Headlamp bulb glued in!
Thanks. I had a feeble attempt today but gave up due to rain. Looks like the grille is secured with some clips and maybe bolts so I will have another go.

Headlamp bulb glued in!
Decided I needed decent lights on my 99 Diesel. Bought super brilliant (legal) H4s from Halfords. Not only did the bulbs (as imported) not match, the nearside was glued in (the retaining clip has gone), so now I have a nice bright offside and a candle on the nearside. Having removed the leisure ...

Re: Show us yer insides
We looked long and hard at the Lulworth from Imperial but in the end went for their Moonfleet, because the enclosed windows at the rear of the Lulworth made it fee claustrophobic. The Moonfleet has carpet, and the Lulworth a solid floor. Carpet feels more luxurious but I've had to cover it in ...

Windscreen won't clear
Although the aircon on my 99 diesel have been recharged and the cab heat works more or less OK the windscreen refuses to clear. Just a whisper of air from the vents below the screen. Any ideas that I could use to fix it please? Otherwise I am furiously wiping the screen with a chamois block.

Re: Reversing Light and Beeper not working
Is it possible to disconnect the reversing beeper? I'm planning to install reversing warning sensors and I don't want a symphony of beeps every time I back up.

Re: Double DIN DAB Radio
AVH-X3500DAB. I think it's an old model. Reserved online to get the price. Needed windscreen aerial which seems to work OK, plus a connector. Sound is pretty good, and I decided to hook up a USB stick for music, which is easy. Now looking for suggestions for a reversing camera to view via the input.

Re: Double DIN DAB Radio
Got the Pioneer unit. Works well, even though the controls are really set up for left hand drive vehicles. I guess that's the price we pay for driving on the correct side of the road. Halfords suggested using the USB feed for music instead of connecting a phone. As a 32Gb stick only costs about £15 ...

Re: Double DIN DAB Radio
Thanks for the update. Halfords in Hendon were a bit sceptical about AppRadio and suggested cable connection is best, and even better would be to load up a high capacity USB stick with music and drive it directly from the unit via cable, saving phone charge etc. I'm planning on the first stage of ...

Re: Double DIN DAB Radio
I guess my main concern is that it really will show sat nav apps from phones onto the screen. Would save sticking my old and un-updated Tom Tom on the screen.

Double DIN DAB Radio
Anyone have any recommendations for a DAB radio to fit the double DIN slot? Also, looking to see if my Sat Nav app on our iPhone and Android can link in. Halfords have a Pioneer that seems to suit.
Thanks
