Having looked into this previously , my small local garage said it would be no trouble for them to alter the flanges to fit my 2.0 for about another £20-£30, with a replacement 2.5 cat at only £179 it seems no contest.

Could be that your wheels are out of balance. 
Might be worth having them done at your local tyre depot as it doesn't cost a lot to have done
