Front brake calliper slider pins/bolts
Morning
Slightly dumb-ass question, just need to double check...
N/S Front brake calliper, '95 Bongo (non-ABS). There are two slider pins that the floating calliper 'floats' on. One of the pins is longer and fatter than the other one.
Which pin goes at the top of the calliper assembly and which pin goes at the bottom????
I know I'm being dumb...
Thanks
Dom

Thanks. It's a useful diagram, but I'm not sure that in this instance it helps much (unless I'm missing something). The bolts in the image both look the same. I tried googling the part codes it lists for the bolts, but without much success...
Re: Front brake calliper slider pins/bolts
Hi,check the hole sizes on the carrier or check the O/S caliper for a reference.
Re: Front brake calliper slider pins/bolts
Hole sizes slightly inconclusive believe it or not.
Yes I could dismantle the other one but I'm hoping someone on here just knows the answer as it saves me some extra faffing about.
Anyone? I bet Doone knows...

Re: Front brake calliper slider pins/bolts
If one pin is fatter than the other, surely one hole is larger than the other?
Re: Front brake calliper slider pins/bolts
Both of the receiving holes in the calliper hanger are about the same size. The upper one contains a rubber sleeve running all the way through it, the lower one is bare metal.
Obviously the rubber sleeve reduces the internal diameter of the hole it sits in, so logically this is where the thinner bolt goes. But because rubber is flexible it will receive either, albeit the thicker one being a tight fit.
As I say I'm just hoping that someone who actually knows this off the top of their head can confirm or otherwise for me...
