Hi all, I have an oil leak from my offside rear half shaft oil seal. I have removed the handbrake shoes and backplate but can't see what holds the half shaft in to replace the seal. Would welcome some advice. I have checked the axle breather is clear. I have also looked on the part finder at an exploded diagram of the axle but that doesn't give anything away. Hope you can help.
Paul

Hi Paul, the bearing could be quite tight in the housing, have you removed the handbrake bracket from the hub and the brake hose.

yes took backplate off - 2 x 14mm nut & bolt at4 o'clock and 7 o'clock / 1 x 24mm nut at top / brake cable & pipe off. Are those 3 fixings for the backplate all that secure the half shaft? Doesn't seem enough, was expecting to find more bolts behind backplate.
