MOT/service query - V6

Post by lindalove » Sun Mar 07, 2010 2:15 pm

Hi there - about to take our petrol/LPG V6 Bongo to have a service and MOT. Its the first time we've sent it for MOT/service - can someone please advise what must be done on the Bongo to keep it clear of any problems - can't remember how often a petrol needs an oil change for example.

Just want to make sure the garage goes through it all (its a recommended garage on the members board - Romford Mazda - but just in case they miss something?)

Any tips appreciated!

Hi there,

Depends on what has been done to date and when really.

As a minimum you should be looking at:

New Oil and filter
New air filter
Check auto gearbox and rear diff oil
Check drive belts
Check brakes and suspension etc

On a yearly basis I also:
Change the spark plugs
Change wiper blades

2 Yearly:
Change coolant
Change brake fluid
Change auto box oil
Change rear diff oil

The LPG system should be checked/serviced around every 20k or 2 years depending on system.

I've probably missed something but it's a starting point.

Good luck.

Andy
Some of that maybe OTT but I figure it's best to look after the car properly

Offical things that I can remember are:

Engine oil and filter every 15k km.
Cambelt every 100K km.
