execessive revving when engine is warm????

hi i need some help, my 95/96 bongo has exesssive revving when engine is at warm temperature and the engine is also knocking and water is pressurising, i have recently changed the turbo, air filter checked also inter cooler has been cleaned. it runs ok when engine is cold. if anyone has had any of these problems or know anyway of fixing this problem your help will be very grateful, thanks

If water is pressurising, it sounds like the dreaded cylinder head gasket :( Is there steam coming from the exhaust?

sounds like the Head Gasket to me too....

thanks for ur reply and yes there is steam mixed with white smoke coming from the exhaust, do you think that the head gasket could be the problem for the execessive revving aswell? basically when the engine is warm the vehicle revs on its own, cheers

Can't see why it would cause revving, but it could account for the knocking.
