Autoelectrics - What's this called?
Can anyone tell me what this type of fuse holder is called? I'm trying to get hold of another one, as it looks like they are stackable and they mount directly to the battery terminal. I want to run a cable back into the cab, and this looks like it will be the neatest solution. Can't seem to find them on the net, but if I knew what they were called....Thanks.

Yes, but I was after something more specific than that.dandywarhol wrote:An in-line fuse?

Give willinton a shout on ebay, I'm sure he'll be able to point you in the right direction or provide one for you.

It looks like a Maxi size fuse, and yes they are stackable holders and they appear on EBay here

Thanks Geoff - that's certainly the type - I was hoping I could find one with the fixed battery terminal connector though. MaybeWillinton makes them up like that - I'll try contacting him through eBay like Kirsty suggested.g8dhe wrote:It looks like a Maxi size fuse, and yes they are stackable holders and they appear on EBay here

If mounting under the bonnet you can get fully sealed waterproof versions of these which may be better. If going for a fuse box type arrangement why not use a waterproof fuse at the battery then run a cable from that to the inside (behind the glove box perhaps) and have a fuse box in the dry where it is less likely to corrode?

Hi - yeah, that's pretty much what I've got planned. 40 Amp cable fused at battery, running through rubber grommet behind the expansion tank, to a 4 way fuse box mounted in the space behind glove box.stringman wrote:If mounting under the bonnet you can get fully sealed waterproof versions of these which may be better.
