Quick towing question.

Post by brorabongo » Tue Jun 24, 2008 10:42 am

Did I read/hear somewhere that it's a good idea to grease the towball?

Cheers.

I always think its a good idea to, yah got two surfaces (the ball & hitch) creating what is essentially a joint.
They're gonna need a bit of lube...

That is assuming you have not got the modern anti-snake device fitted into your trailer/caravan tow hitch
Usually a red push down handle on the tow hitch...

Donald

Only grease the old style hitches on trailers

DO NOT grease the new style that replace a stabaliser (alko/winterhoff etc on caravans) they have plates that tighten on the ball and wont operate properly if lubricated.
