Advice please

As you have most probabley read, I am having a few problems at the moment with the Bongo.
I thought the battery was dead.
Went to Halfords this morning and brought a battery charger which connects via the cigarette lighter adapter, followed the instructions. The green led came on straight away to indicate the battery is charged. However when I turn the ignition no power at all.
Advice gratefully received

Wouldn't think it'd be much good unless your lighter socket is connected direct, normally it's only on with ignition.

do you have an immobaliser fitted?, if not check the main fuses under the bonnet, i think its a 100 amp fuse for the ignition/engine ect.

I have checked the 100amp fuse There is no fuse just a piece of insulated wire.

sounds like you have found the problem then , lets just hope it the wire that has blown and nothing else

silly question but have you wiggled the wire to see if the bongo will start?

Local auto electricians tested mine for free. Why don't you try them or your local battery supplier.

Multimeter across the terminals reading voltage, should be around 12v or more, up towards 14v with the engine running charging it.

Just tried car horn connected direct to battery no sound, tried on the wife's meriva I think i have just peforated my ear drum.
Conclussion
Battery is flat
Halfords battery charger is rubbish.
Still having ringing in my ears
Looks like another trip to halfords.

Some chargers won't start charging if the battery is completely flat. Found this with my fancy new one, after charging with my very old, cheap, charger for a couple of hour to get some chage in swaped to new one - fine.

Easy peasy connect a wire to each terminal, poke tounge out, then put the other ends of the wires on your tounge. Great voltage sensor.

I find my ratchet a good voltage sensor when i end up welding it to the inner wing whilst playing with the battery

and yes i have done it before
