Fuel Tank Breather?

Post by alexxb » Mon Apr 21, 2008 5:11 pm

Hi,

does anyone know where the fuel tank breather is? Can you just get a replacement fuel cap with breathable holes in it?....

all was fine until I decided to take my Bongo to get the fuel sender replaced as the fuel dial was bust. Since then, the only way I can avoid coming to a grinding halt after 30 mins is to leave the diesel fuel cap on loose to allow air in?

I assume this must be a fuel breather issue - something maybe clogged up while replacing the sender? Is it easy to resolve or is it back to the garage?

Thanks!!!! #-o

I know the law doesn't allow these venting caps on petrol engined vehicles these days - fumes have to go through a charcoal filter first - not so sure about diesels....................

This any help? - 42590A is a breather valve and connects up to the filler neck (Z)
