Help rear view mirror

Post by compobongo » Mon Jul 09, 2007 11:06 pm

Please help

My rear view mirror fell off the other day?

Can anyone tell me where I might get a replacement. The bit is still attached to the windscreen - the joint holding the actual mirror on broke.

Please help as it would be nice to see out the back again

Are you talking about the mirror in the car on the windscreen or the one outside at the back?
You could try Bellhill or Bongo bits, both of which advertise on the BF site. If it is the front windscreen mirror then any mirror thats sticks to the windscreen (new sticky pads required from accessory shop) could be bought from a scrap yard.

NeilT got one of those wide ones that go over the exiting mirror and he got me one too. I put it on some while back and have never taken it off. Works great, looks good and it only cost £4. I think they are sold on ebay so check it out. A cheap way of getting out of a hole 8)

If you can get to a breakers yard any rear view mirror from a Mazda of around the same age should do the job and look like the original for just a few pounds and the cost of the self adhesive pad for the windscreen. :)
If I had all the money I ever spent on my Freda ............ I`d spend it on my Freda.

Just a follow up to my previous message be very careful taking the old mirror off your windscreen if there is any of it left on as you could crack the windscreen if you use to much force :( . That would be expensive.

Nice try Pete, thanks. Mind you I might as well take the front one off as well for all I can see out of the back.
Tend not to use it much anyway as I drive my baby van most of the time and that has no view out of the rear, so I tend to forget the mirror's there.
