hissing noise
We have just come back from a short trip Falmouth to truro as I got out the bongo I could hear a hissing sound. I lifted up the the drivers seat and there on the right hand side is a large black pipe which seems more swollen than the last time I saw it
. There is a small hole in it!!! Can anyone tell me what the pipe is and is It something I can just swop over . Or will I need to go to a BF garage
Can I just patch it up in the mean time with insulating tape
. Sorry no picture as battery flat on the camera.

Do not try and bodge this hose, It is part of your main top hose and is full of coolant. Suggest you get it fixed asap. Allans of Plymouth will have a replacement and would fit one for you Your cooling system will need PROPERLY bleeding when the job is done. Drive on at your peril and it could cost you a engine

Don't worry about the black oily muck at the back there. Most Bongos have that there and it won't be a problem, unlike the hose. If you must drive it to a garage do it in short stages and carry plenty of water to top up the system with. Beware of hot coolant under pressure. Sounds like you could be a customer for one of our coolant loss alarm systems.
