I have a nagging feeling you have to add 0.7 of a litre to that figure when changing the oil filter. Can anyone confirm?

Have you checked it since waycar, in case he had checked it before the system had settled. I seem to recall getting dipstick on the max mark when I changed by oil and filter and before I reached 6.7 litres. My memory is vague, but I'm pretty sure I ended up putting in 6.7l or thereabouts, maybe because the level settled after a bit. I doubt it will self-destruct if only 6l in it though!

Used over 6L when changed with filter. Used magnatec not cheap as have to buy two around £25 each (4.5L), but I noticed a quieter engine, and now able to cruse through the village at 30mph in fifth without that horrible droning/labouring noise as before.
