Air Con regas
Hi,
Anyone know the whereabouts of the Air con recharge low pressure side ports.
Also, are there separate ones for front and rear systems?
Cheers,
Glyn

But, does anyone know the type of refrigerant used in a '97?

seems to be a nationwide service, had a few good reports on the estima forum, they won't charge if they can't complete work, because of leaks ect, but i did ask them when i rang Wigan Branch did they know how much to put in a bongo? ,they weren't sure without checking their data,so may be aswell to tell them yourselves, think it is 700g for single system and 1150g for double, but maybe someone can clarify this

That's a very good point Paul and not just for Kwikfit outlets. Most garages/aircon mechs have a huge chart showing vehicles and gas charge weights but of course they won't include import details. If they don't know they will make a guess and probably don't realise you have a twin-zone aircon system so may not put enough gas in. So in order to not get short-changed it's a good idea to quote the weight of gas needed. Anyone able to confirm Paul's figures?

The amounts are on the members factsheet - but since they have already been posted here anyway, the factsheet says 700g for front only, 1150g for the dual system. My garage were going to re-gas mine at the last service, but those figures were not available to them anywhere, so I looked them up ready for next time. Does seem that if you go to Kwik Fit you'll need to tell them how much, or maybe they'll just guess, and from what I've been told too much can damage the system.
