Insurance for Bongo

Hi,

I have been a member of this forum for a couple of years now but this is my first post here. I have been looking to buy a Bongo for a while now and have just been given the opportunity to purchase a Bongo at what appears to be a very good price via a friend in the trade( he deals with vehicles in general, not a Bongo or camper specialist). I have just contacted my existing insurer (LV) to get a quote for including this on my existing policy but was told that their underwriters "won't insure this kind of vehicle". I assume this is because it is an import - although when I looked at a Bongo of similar vintage and mileage a couple of years ago and contacted them they gave me a quote with no issues.

I did try and search the forums for any relevant posts but couldn't find anything directly relevant - therefore any advice regarding specialist insurers or any similar experiences would be much appreciated before I part with my hard earned cash!
