Temp Gauge not working - which sensor to replace?

Post by Kernowel » Fri Sep 06, 2024 2:57 pm

Hi

My temperature gauge has stopped working (since a coolant leak was fixed funnily enough). Any idea which sensor needs to be replaced, or is it both of them?

Sorry if this has already been asked. I did find a thread but the links were dead so I couldn't see which one
it was https://www.lushprojects.com/bongoparts ... no=.html#9

Ontop the head at the front - Heat Gauge 18-510.

It's not the wet one half way down the block, buried behind the inlet manifold.

Its the one with a single Green wire at the front of the engine, location varies where on the front, diesel accessed from under drivers seat, petrol closer to the centre line as I recall.

Thanks both. Another stupid question:

Why are there two different part numbers for the Heat Gauge 18-510 on the index? Is one for the petrol and one for the diesel variant?

Many thanks

No, one feeds the dashboard display alone the single green wire and the other feeds the ECU engine temperature from the I suspect the oil in the crankshaft case.
