Sediment Cannister Location?

Hi,
I read that the sediment light being on means that excess water has to be drained.

I found a thread here that said it was underneath the drivers seat area - I crawled under the Bongo and the only thing I saw in that location looked more like a coolant resevoir (spherical plastic container with definite marker lines on it), yet the information I'd found said it should be part of the fuel filter and it definitely didn't look like a fuel filter, so was this it and do you have to unclamp the hose?

Or is it actually UNDER the drivers seat, as in you have to physically remove the seat, in which case how do you get the seat out as I've never done this before. I did find I could un-clamp some brackets, but the seat still remained firmly in place.

Yes its on the bottom of the fuel (diesel) filter, it is a large threaded white plastic item with a wire connecting to the middle of it see picture below;

Pull the sensor wire off, unscrew and the waste water will drain out, replace the the sensor and replace the wire.

To lift the seat you need to remove the trim piece that runs from the gear selector back between the seats.

Lift out the ash tray and remove the bit of plastic in the back tray and unscrew the two round thingys thus revealed.

There’s then 3 clips to undo, but if you have a side conversion this may foul the seat.

I'd got that far before, but then the seat still seemed clamped in place so I figured there was an additional step I'd missed.

I thought it might swivel or tilt or something but it was still very much held down so I figured there was an additional step I was missing.

Does the seat actually come out entirely, or just tip over or.......

Hinges at the back, same as passenger one.

All done.

Once I knew they hinged back the rest was fairly easy, used an old 100 pack CD-ROM container tub to catch it all in before transferring it to something more sensible, though you have to wonder how much is water when it's so yellow with diesel.

Now, do we take it to any normal waste disposal place to get rid of it, or how to dispose of it?

Hoping that once the new battery (well, new in March) is re-charged (been sitting since then and gone flat) it might actually start.

Bear in mind the 'new' battery may have been damaged by being left discharged.

If you need to take the contaminated fuel to the waste disposal center you have a problem, simply put in a clear container leave it to separate then pour the liquid gold into your fuel tank.
