Thanks
Yes, the metal piece that comes out of the head splits just 2 ways it seems

There is a smaller hose that fits to something else , could be turbo (seems to have large air pipe to it also ?)

I think a call to garage used and see what they may have done is in order tomorrow

As always , thanks for help

Right, update

After much problems finding a tee joint I have made a breather pipe as suggested

Added some coolant (as some lost in pipe change ) and did the see saw with funnel with my daughter .
Lots of bubbles, stopped appearing eventually .

All levels seem good.

Took for a test and no major temp rise 👍
Temp stays stable at just below the 12o'clock on the gauge . Doesnt move above this.

Not a major run , but should be enough to overheat if there was a problem i hope .

Thanks again to all above , learned how to do it , but will keep an eye on water level and temp gauge especially in near future

Hi all. I'm completely new on here and to my Bongo. I just had exactly the same problem whilst out having a drive. We stopped and the coolant started to boil and come out of the over flow. Once it was cool we started home, only a mile away with still coolant in the header, then the heaters started to work and the temperature gauge went back to normal almost immediately. Does that sound like air in the system or sticky thermostat? Its off to the garage tomorrow just to check all is ok. Thanks in advance

Welcome aboard. 8)

Which engine do you have, and is your garage familiar with Bongos?
Take a torch, toilet roll, and tea bags.
