Re: V6 radiator blown - replacement tasks?
As already said, it is easy to post a new thread. When starting out I'd go to the Board Index (click it in the menus towards the top left)8bitboy wrote:Hi , can angle direct me to the right place to post my own query? This thread seems the most likely for me. I have a Mazda bongo friendee 2.5 diesel manual . I was driving about 5 mins from cold. Suddenly the temp gauge shot up above 1/2 and the to 3/4 . I stopped the van straight away waited 30mins and the slowly took the van home whereby it didn't shoot up. Upon opening the bonnet I found water by the radiator cap? Frothing and resisting on the radiator I presume. I've not driven it since, I can post some pictures. Can anyone help? I'd love to get my beloved bongo back on the road and I'd like to find one local to Kent to fix it.
Regards.
Rob.
Select the appropriate group: there are lots of them. You could post your enquiry for a garage in the London, Kent, Sussex regional group - its a long way down the list!
Click the New Topic button once you are "inside" your chosen group.
There is also a list of Bongo Friendly garages available to owner group members.
Or you could do a search. Click the Advanced Search cog icon and type into the keyword box, for example, kent AND garage to get this list of previous posts. Some look like being useful.
Good advice already given about not driving the bongo.
If a garage says "top up the expansion tank and drive it round", DON'T LISTEN.
If a mechanic comes round and just fills up the expansion tank and gets in to drive it away, LIE DOWN IN THE ROAD.
More needs to be done before it could be considered wise to drive it for more than a few yards.
Good luck, hopefully it will turn out well.
