Original sat nav removal

Post by wells01 » Fri Sep 23, 2016 11:24 am

Hi
My Bongo has the original Japanese radio and separate sat nav NAX9200.
The radio came out easily but I cant see how the sat nav unit can be released.
Any ideas gratefully received

Try one of the three Audio Head Units listed here http://lushprojects.com/bongopartsmk2/i ... tr.html#11

Hi
Thanks for your reply.
I don't understand what you mean.
I am struggling to remove the existing sat nav.

There normally all very similar, covers down the sides that protect a couple of holes thru which you release the clips, using thin rods.
Can you not put a photo up without that we are just guessing at what you have ...

On the photo with the display closed, there appear to be two silver strips either side outside the case, are these not clips holding the unit in place ?

Hi
It seems that there is a tool which slides down above and below those strips.
Unfortunately I don't posses such a tool but have discovered that four steak knives do the same job!
Many thanks for your help.

Never used a proper tool myself yet! Skewers, knives, long nails all seem to work, otherwise leave the door open one evening with a notice saying Free SatNav ready for removal .....
