Hi Geoff,
Thanks for replying whilst on your holiday!
I understand the principles of how it will work, it was more tracing the wires so that i can splice into it at a convenient place.
It would appear that the best option for me would be to cut the red wire at the back of the switch, E2-01, and run a fresh wire from that, to the engine bay, to a relay. This will then act as the trigger wire still, but in a position that suits me as i just don't know where to look in the bay to get the feed. The output in the engine bay, with the 15a fuse, i can use this still to get the main power feed down to the relay. Then it is just a case of running an earth and the wire down to the lights from the other 2 points on the relay.
That will do it and save me wasting a day tracing wires, just hate that there will be another wire coming through the grommet in the bulkhead when there is almost certainly one there already.
Incidentally, i went to my aunts as she has a bongo with fogs and it is not the same. All the relays are there clear as day on the wing! Mine absolutely does not have one there.
Now, my van is early model with no air bag, i read that these don't have headlight relays. My aircon is the mechanical type, no relay for that? So just leaves the tail light relay that is unaccounted for...!
