Hi
I finaly got round to fitting an air lift 1000 kit to my Bongo, what psi would be a good starting point ?, its a V6 with lpg and a towbar so theres plenty of weight on the rear axle,i put 10 psi in each side to keep he bags shape.

With a full side conversion and R&R bed, with a rear Thule box on the Towbar fully loaded, we found just 20PSI removed all the previous banging around as it grounded out, I think I started at about 30-40 and slowly dropped it down between trips and at 15PSI the banging came back so then put it back to 20PSI and have left it there ever since.

Re: Air lift 1000
I found that although 20/25psi gets rid of any bottoming out, 40/50psi gives a nice solid rear end and eliminates any wallowing on faster bends and corners. Makes for a harsher ride on rough surfaces but worth the trade off as I don't often drive on poorly surfaced roads.

Hi
thanks for the replies, i'll go with 30psi to start with, the camping stuff is kept in the van in the summer, then we notice the bottoming out over speed bumps etc, I've fitted the bags independently , at some point in the future i'd like a kitchen pod on the drivers side rear corner, so i'll need a few psi more on that side for the extra weight.do you have yours linked ?

I've kept ours independent, but always at the same pressure.
