dim headlight bulb ...brand new

went to halfords and got a headlight bulb ...472-h4...12 v..60/50 w

sussed out eventually how to take it out and replace but now the light is nowhere near as bright as the other one..which was the same bulb.....any ideas?

Usually a bad bulb holder or earth connection ..

Some people change the dodgy plastic connection with a ceramic one .. cheaply / easy to source from eBay ..

thank you very much Mike....I have wiggled the connector and the light goes bright...wiggle it again and its dim...a bit like me I suppose :?

Its a common fault
This is an excellent idea unless the holder has already started to melt or degrade.

I often just cut them off and fit a new one but I always add an additional Earth cable, Land Rover Discovery's are notorious for it
