Stuck electric Blind

Post by LeCCy » Mon Jan 29, 2007 9:54 am

The Blind over my side door has stuck, just makes a whiring noise when you try to open/close on the switch and wont budge with a reasonable amount of handpower.

Should I try to force it a little more ?

It was working fine and dandy one day and then kaput the next!

Thanks
Russ

I stand to be corrected by those that know better but I think it is belt driven and the belt may have broken. Leccy blinds are quite happy to be opened or closed by hand. Since it would appear that it is already broken, I would risk doing it manually.

Thanks colin,

just to be clear I have already pulled with some pressure but not the maximum I can. I guess that if if doesnt budge with more pressure on it then it might snap the blind itself - which seems to flex like plastic?

I will cross my fingers that others can clarify before giving it a go at the risk of totally buggering up (....which is something that I normally do!)

Try closing some of the others manually.

That will give you a feel (oops!) of how much pull is needed for a known working one.

I reiterate, it is perfectly OK to operate electric blinds manually.
