Starter Motor Refurbished
Bought the kit for this some weeks ago but never got round to doing it. Anyway, this morning I was just getting clicks when trying to start the Bongo and it eventually kicked in but just envisaged this scenario every day. Decided to refurb the starter this afternoon. Hardest part was getting the 3 bolts loosened that hold it in place. Once I removed the backing plate it was easy to see the pitting and burnt marks on both contacts and the plunger. All swapped out now and the bongo back to starting like Usain Bolt. Happy days.

I've never done it to my Bongo but my Toyota uses a very similar starter and the same kit ..

Think I'm resigned to the fact that there will always be jobs needing done and will never complete the rolling listmikeonb4c wrote:Excellent news - one less job to attend to ho ho!Fassi wrote:Bought the kit for this some weeks ago but never got round to doing it. Somehow though, these fab and eccentric vehicles seem worth it. As much a hobby as a means of transport (and more)Fassi wrote:Think I'm resigned to the fact that there will always be jobs needing done and will never complete the rolling listmikeonb4c wrote:Excellent news - one less job to attend to ho ho!Fassi wrote:Bought the kit for this some weeks ago but never got round to doing it.
